  Look out world! The good people at Kwerkee, based in Singapore, asked me to participate in their beautifully curated flash sale shop, with brick-and-mortar shops opening soon. Hand painted Peacock Feather Shoes

Increasing my portfolio of offerings with some hand-painted Toms, inspired by the peacock feather pattern of my popular Indian Peacock hand-pulled linocut print.

The best part is that when you purchase a pair, Toms gives another pair to a child in need - you can even choose the color and size HERE.

This is such a fun project for me and I'm so thrilled to be able to offer new applications of my artwork! Thank you for all your continued support.

New 2013 Block Print

With the help of my new block printing "assistant" (aka good friend!), I'm happy to introduce another addition to the ever-growing bird series - the mockingbird. I've been lagging on the bird series as I  only produced one addition, the cardinal, last year, so hopefully I'll be picking it up on adding new prints and new work in general. This little birdie is up for sale at Storenvy or Etsy...and hopefully in the near future, on annasee.com.

I have lots of exciting new things in store for the new year and I can't wait to share it all here. Here's hoping everything will go through (crosses fingers)!

First up, my Colorful European Buildings piece was chosen to be included in the Autumn/Winter 2014/2015 Trend Bible Kids Lifestyle Book. This is a widely industry used lifestyle and marketing publication that predicts Pantone colors, trends, and other seasonal attitudes and influences for the upcoming season - in this case, for 2014/2015.

I remember when I was in art school, my fashion illustration instructor brought one of these books in to show us what the fashion and home industries use to help them prepare their goods and better cater to their audience for the upcoming purchasing seasons. Never would I ever have imagined that my work would be picked to be included in this book as an upcoming "trend!" It's pretty cool :).

Also, more of my cards with Masala are now available for sale for 2013 HERE. I am so impressed with the quality (soy inks, beautiful recycled papers) and affordability of these cards and the owners are so lovely and sweet to boot! Thank you for supporting MADE IN USA, small business and local economy! It really IS what makes America.

Double Feature

The lovely Will aka Mr. Bazaar over at the amazing Bright Bazaar blog has hung my Colorful European Buildings Print in his beautiful home and has written up a lovely little post about my work. Thank you so much!

I also participated in an interview for Melissa's blog HERE. She's an amazing and inspirational young blogger who is living with a rare disability called Freeman-Sheldon syndrome and she chronicles that, amongst other things, on her blog. Here are some of the questions and my answers:
  
What are some things people should keep in mind when shopping for artwork?
Purchase artwork that makes you happy as artwork can really set the tone for a room and house, and know that when you buy directly from artists, you are supporting the handmade community as it is this support that enables the work to be produced. Additionally, I think people have to be very careful that they are purchasing the "real thing." I've had my artwork lifted and sold as someone else's own and oftentimes, we look at the lower price rather than the quality. It effects independent artists and designers so much when people shop at places -- big corporations and small companies alike -- that blatantly steal images from artists without any compensation.

What are some ways that people can decorate for less?
Online sites like Etsy, ebay, and Craigslist are great sources for affordable pieces that people can use to decorate for less. Aside from that, I love doing DIY stuff and following the many awesome DIY tutorials that are often posted on various blogs. I also love perusing local thrift stores for amazing finds. You'd be amazed at hos much you can change the look of something with just a little creativity and DIY! Having something look good doesn't necessarily mean you have to spend a lot of money!
